About Us

Hi There!

Sisters & Health Practitioners

We have been where you are. We became certified in Functional Diagnostic Nutrition (FDN®) because we couldn’t find any answers within traditional medicine for our chronic health complaints, including fatigue that kept us from being present with family and friends, insomnia which left us up all night, and the frustration of eating low calorie diets without success due to weight gain.

We’ve both struggled with chronic issues (acne, bloating, food sensitivities, psoriasis, anxiety) for most of our lives and know just how debilitating these can be. From eastern to western doctors, we’ve tried a whole host of treatments, cleanses and supplements to find answers but found that although some of them worked, they only provided short term results.

We learned that as a society, we rely so heavily on quick fixes, however, we wanted to find solutions that would treat the root cause of our acne, psoriasis, anxiety, fatigue etc. Aka we wanted answers and permanent solutions.

Maddie’s journey into functional medicine began during college when she experienced a severe psoriasis outbreak on her entire body. After seeing conventional doctors, her mom, a holistic advocate, introduced her to a functional medicine practitioner. Instead of a prescription steroid like the prior doctors had given her, she went through rigorous testing and a dedicated dietary and supplement regimen. Maddie was able to heal he entire body from the inside out, instead of masking everything with a bandaid, and in the process, also learned about and tackled the underlying causes of her condition for the first time. This transformative experience ignited her passion for functional medicine’s capacity to heal the body from within.

Kaya, having struggled with anxiety, chronic fatigue, and bloating for most of her life broke down in 2019 when she came back from studying abroad having severe stomach and GI distress. Every doctor she went to told her she was fine, but she felt differently. In desperation, she tried the Medical Medium (M.M) protocols and found relief. Not only did her stomach issues heal but so did her acne and chronic fatigue. This experience awakened her to the power that food has to detox and heal the body.  She practiced the M.M protocols for a year but still felt there was something missing in terms of permanent solutions as some of her symptoms started to creep back.

Additionally, Kaya and Maddie’s mom was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2016. This fueled a desire within them to understand the human body. From countless hours of research, they learned that the body is so much more than just a physical vessel and that our environment, nutrition, epigenetics and even our thoughts hold the keys to our health. We have much more control over our health than society teaches us to believe.

From there, they became guinea pigs in their research of healing the gut microbiome, liver, brain and so much more. Kaya enrolled in the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, where she became a certified health holistic health coach. Maddie with experience at Parsley Health and Calibrate saw both sides – pharmaceuticals that put bandaids on clients weight issues and functional medicine doctors who advocated for total body balance.

It was, however, through the Functional Diagnostic Nutrition (FDN®) program, that both Kaya and Maddie learned to take things a step further – healing metabolic chaos in the body at the systemic level. They became certified in Functional Diagnostic Nutrition practitioners because they couldn’t find any answers within traditional medicine for their chronic health complaints. As FDN-p’s they learned to run gut microbiome, mucosal barrier, hormone, oxidative stress tests and come up with comprehensive lifestyle and supplement protocols to start healing the body on a deeper level beyond putting a bandaid on the symptoms as our healthcare model trains us to do. As certified FDN practitioners and health coaches, they offer 1:1 coaching to get your body back into balance.

They have since gone on to create a health and wellness blog and TikTok to share their insights with friends, family, and many others struggling with health issues who need support – something they desperately needed when they were going through their health crisis. They are passionate about enabling others to understand that they are not alone in their health journey and helping to get to the root cause of symptoms.  They are here to be a resource for all and share solutions for how to heal the body from the inside out.
